Paradyne COMSPHERE 3910 - Modem (analog) - external - RS-232 - 19.2 Kbps
The COMSPHERE 3910 software-definable, private line modem is ideal for today's worldwide analog networks - it offers a single network-managed modem for worldwide, multipoint or point-to-point analog private line and dial applications. That means you get a high level of flexibility, sophistication and speed in one reliable, easy-to-use standalone unit or carrier mount card. Based on Paradyne's award-winning COMSPHERE 3800 Series architecture, the COMSPHERE 3910 offers software-defined flexibility that lets you change, upgrade or enhance the modem's firmware via the Public Switched Dial Network or Network Management System. The COMSPHERE 3910 delivers unsurpassed reliability, supporting two-wire dial restoral or restoral of the primary leased-line circuit with a secondary leased line. With its superior flexibility, reliability and speed, the COMSPHERE 3910 is ideal for your worldwide analog network. The COMSPHERE 3910 is full-featured to meet the requirements for high-volume, high-transaction analog leased-line networks where data integrity and speed are critical. Features include point-to-point or multipoint, synchronous or asynchronous data support, speeds up to V.32bis and V.32terbo (19.2 Kbps), and a soft architecture. Designed to meet the stringent requirements of international regulatory organizations, the COMSPHERE 3910 uses a unique, configurable design of the Data Access Arrangement (DAA) - the circuitry which interfaces with the network. In addition, the COMSPHERE 3910 has a self-sensing power supply, plus the Generic Call Progress Algorithm required to meet many international requirements. The COMSPHERE 3910 can be configured for 2- or 4-wire leased-line networks with backup restoral via 2-wire dial or 2-wire leased line. If line quality begins to deteriorate, the COMSPHERE 3910 modem (if optioned) will downshift to lower speeds, attempting to preserve the link. If it is unable to operate at the minimal selected rate, the modem will automatically initiate dial backup.
