Transition Networks, the conversion technology expert, offers its low cost 10/100 bridging media converter. Compatible with any of the PointSystem's chassis the converter is a slide-in chassis card containing one 10/100 TX port and one fiber port, and is available as multi-mode, single-mode, and long-haul single-mode. The converter includes numerous features that support customers as they install, troubleshoot, and manage the unit eliminating the need for a cross-over cable and Far End Fault (FEF), a troubleshooting function that alerts the network manager of a lost fiber link. Network managers can also fully manage the media converter - enable or disable the card, force 10 or 100Mbps, select auto-negotiation, force half or full duplex - with Transition's FocalPoint application or via a standard browser with Web-based management software.
